The Baby Feeding Book by Vanessa Christie describes itself as the "essential guide to breastfeeding, bottle-feeding and starting solids with confidence". It’s a comprehensive guide to feeding a baby, which I found to be very thoughtful, factual and evidence based.
How best to feed your baby is a very emotive topic for many parents and one on which everyone seems to have their own view. What I particularly liked about this book was that it was entirely non-judgmental, and simply provided useful information on all feeding methods without forcing unnecessary opinions on to the reader.
Whilst the book focuses on feeding, I found some really helpful commentary in the book on a wide range of baby related topics, from sleeping habits and mental health considerations to developmental milestones.
My baby has just started on solids, and so I found that part of the book particularly helpful but I also read the other parts and for someone who both breast and bottle-fed, I would definitely have benefitted from reading this book in the early weeks and would absolutely recommend it new parents.
The Baby Feeding Book: Your essential guide to breastfeeding, bottle-feeding and starting solids with confidence is published by Piatkus and is available from bookshops and Amazon.
