Christmas Jumper Day

Sainsbury's Tu Christmas jumperSave the Children's Christmas Jumper Day is now in its third year and, to date, the charity has raised £1.6 million. Even better this year, the UK government will match donations pound for pound up to a maximum of £5 million.

Last year I had to give Olivia one of her Christmas presents early so she had a festive jumper to wear and this year I thought I ought to join her especailly when I saw the range of Christmas jumpers available in Sainsbury's Tu collection.

The Tu collection priced from £10 to £20 includes jumpers for men, women, boys and girls (interchangeable in my opinion) in an array of Santas, reindeer, robins and penguins.

They are machine washable preferably at 30° and then dry flat.

I started the ball rolling by wearing mine at our local church Christmas fayre – and children loved my reindeer's wobbly eyes.

Apart from making a donation by texting Woolly to 70050 to give £2 to Save the Children, you can also wear your festive jumper at TGI Fridays from 8 to 12 December and they will donate another £1 per jumper. A donation of just £2 really can save lives. Your £2 could buy potentially life-saving antibiotics to treat three newborn babies fighting infections.

And if you are on Twitter post your photos using #xmasjumperday and include us as well @ParentingWT.
